There are two workbooks for you to choose from when preparing for capability-based interviews (using the new Civil Service Capability Framework).

One is for candidates who are preparing to be interviewed, and if that's you then Mastering Answers for Capability-based Interviews was written with you in mind.
The second is for interviewers preparing to be part of an interview board and if that's you then Perfecting Capability-Based Interviewing for Interviewers was written for you.

Mastering answers for Capability-based Interviews in the Civil Service is focused on helping candidates preparing for interviews using the new Civil Service Capability Framework. This is already being used at interviews run by publicjobs.ie (at EO, AO, HEO and AP grades) instead of the previously used competencies and requires different interview preparation.

Perfecting Capability-based Interviewing for Interviewers is focused on those interviewers who will be on interview boards using the new Civil Service Capability Framework (instead of the previously used competencies). This requires different interview preparation, new types of questions to be prepared and used and new ways of evaluating candidates. I wrote and designed this workbook to help you prepare for your role as an interviewer for this new type of interview.

Preparing Answers for Competency-based Interviews is for candidates getting ready for a competency-based interview elsewhere in the public sector or for internal civil service competitions that have not yet swapped over to the new Capability Framework.
